Welcome to the Biology Department

Our mission is to provide excellent educational opportunities for students majoring in biology, those taking biology courses as a required component of another program of study, and for students who are taking a biology course to fulfill a general education requirement. Regardless of your program of study, in the Biology Department, you will find caring, motivated and talented professors who will help make your educational experience a positive one.

This is an exciting time to be working and studying in the biological sciences. Opportunities abound in cutting-edge fields within biology, and we can help prepare you for many different scientifically-related careers. We offer a diverse set of courses, research opportunities, and internships in ecology, organismal biology, biochemistry and molecular biology. These will help you be competitive for advanced degrees in the biological sciences or health professions, or you may choose to use your education as a springboard to a career in industry or a public agency. In any case, we can help you.

Please call, e-mail or drop in if you have any questions about biology at AASU. We look forward to helping you achieve your educational goals.
