![]() Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor SocietyThe Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society is an honor society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending the boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. The society was started in 1922 by Dr. Frank G. Brooks at Oklahoma City University. Since its founding, more than 115,000 persons have been accepted into lifetime membership and more than 350 chapters of the society have been established to encourage the close professional and personal relationship on which science thrives.Armstrong Atlantic State University is the home of the Tau Chi Chapter of Beta Beta Beta. The main purpose of the Tau Chi Chapter and Beta Beta Beta is to encourage scholarly attainment in the field of biology. The society also encourages and promotes undergraduate research and dissemination of such research. At AASU, our members actively engage in undergraduate research projects and participate in the dissemination of our results. Our students have presented at numerous national, regional, and local conferences, and have won many awards. Some of these awards include the BBB Johnson C. Johnson Award and several AASU Research and Scholarship Undergraduate Awards. Our chapter also provides tutoring services for students enrolled in our introductory biology courses. In association with the AASU Biology Club, our members are also actively involved with fund-raising, environmental, and community-related activities. MembershipFor Regular Membership, students:
Membership & Initiation FeesNational membership and initiation fees for regular membership are $45.00. Inductions are held every Spring in April. Complete application forms must be submitted to the Chapter Advisor or TriBeta Officers by the set deadline. Membership fees are due prior to initiation.
